Patrick Kennedy’s Speech at the City Club of Chicago
September 11, 2014

“I don’t think I found anywhere in any speech a greater summation of the challenge than we have in this Country in tackling the issues of mental health than what President Kennedy said 50 years ago last October:  The mentally ill need no longer by alien to our affections or beyond the help of our communities.

And what he was saying is that the mentally ill need to be all of us, all of us have a responsibility because it is all of us.  It reaches to every family in America from all walks of life from the President on down. Every family is touched by those in their midst by those who have a mental illness, an intellectual disability or a substance use disorder.” – Patrick Kennedy
